Looking for a Carmel, Indiana engagement photographer? This romantic engagement session at Coxhall Gardens showcases one of Central Indiana's most beautiful locations for engagement photos!
When couples choose a location that already holds a special place in their hearts, it makes the session even more meaningful. For these two, Coxhall Gardens wasn’t just a beautiful backdrop—it was where their engagement began!
He surprised her with a proposal at Coxhall Gardens,(yoga pants and all lol) making it the perfect place to return for their engagement photos before saying “I do” this fall.(without the yoga pants this time!) There’s something so special about revisiting the place where one chapter ended and another began. Choosing a location that means something to you is a perfect place to start, or, choose a place new to both of you! Either way, I aim to capture all the beautiful moments!
As the evening unfolded, they settled into the session with ease. My goal is never to create stiff or overly posed photographs. Instead, I guide my couples with simple prompts that encourage genuine connection, allowing their personalities and love for one another to shine naturally. I probably told Jason to tickle Jenny about 100 different times, by the last time he REALLY tickled her, and we got some GREAT candid's of her laughing.
The soft evening light, vibrant summer colors, and timeless beauty of Coxhall Gardens created the perfect setting for images they’ll cherish for years to come. Every path, garden, and architectural detail seemed to tell another piece of their story.
One of my favorite parts of engagement sessions is getting to know my couples before their wedding day. It helps build trust, allows them to become comfortable in front of the camera, and gives us the chance to create beautiful memories before the excitement of the wedding arrives. I never want my clients to feel like strangers when I arrive for their big day! So engagement sessions are a great way to do a vibe check beforehand and build a friendship beyond computers & cellphones! During this session I learned Jenny is a nurse and Jason is in sales. I already knew they both have 4 children, she has two boys and he has two girls. Talk about perfection! Capturing the kids during their wedding day is at the top of their list, and no worries, I GOTTCHU! I think it's incredibly sweet that they are involving the kids in their wedding so heavily. Intimate ceremonies & celebrations will always be one of my favorite things to photograph.
I’m already looking forward to photographing their wedding this fall at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, followed by a celebration at Sunking in Westfield. I can't wait to capture the next chapter of their story and all the meaningful moments that come with their wedding day. If their engagement session is any indication, I know it’s going to be a beautiful celebration filled with meaningful moments.
If you’re looking for a Carmel, Indiana engagement photographer or are planning your own wedding in Indianapolis & surrounding areas, Candice Co. Photography would love to help tell your story. Whether your engagement session takes place at Coxhall Gardens or another location that’s meaningful to you, the most beautiful photographs are always the ones that reflect your unique story.
