There's nothing like Fall in the Midwest, and this family session at West Park in Carmel was the perfect reminder why it's one of my favorite seasons for family photos. With vibrant autumn colors, golden evening light, and crisp fall air, the park creates a beautiful backdrop for capturing genuine moments together.

West Park is one of my favorite locations for family sessions in Carmel, Indiana because it offers a little bit of everything. From tree-lined walking paths & open green spaces to colorful fall foliage, it's the perfect setting for relaxed, natural family photos. It gives little ones plenty of room to explore, play and simply be themselves, which always leads to the most meaningful candid images. It offers public restrooms that always seem to be clean. Entry to the park is free, and although it can be a popular spot, it's big enough to never feel congested! Parking is super easy and within walking distance to anyplace in the park! And the most important- ITS DOG FRIENDLY!!!

This sweet family is always such a joy to photograph. Instead on focusing on perfectly posed smiles, the majority of our session entailed having fun together. As a lifestyle photographer, my goal is to create a session that feels easy and enjoyable.

If you're looking for a beautiful location for fall family photos in Carmel, Indiana, West Park is one of my top recommendations. I recommend parking on the opposite side of the splash pad/playground that way the little ones don't even see it, it helps keep them distracted from it being an actual playground and focus on our mission- great family photos. Unless of course you want images of your little ones playing, which is completely fine also!
